Michaella Levine, or as she prefers, Ella, reminds me of a Renaissance painting come to life. Hey there! My name is Michaella Levine, but you can call me Ella. I’m a 23 year old upstate NY gal still kinda trying to navigate her way through life. I’ve got a couple years of college under my belt, where I was studying english/creative writing, but am currently on an (extended) break as I figure out life and exactly what my fashion future holds. I’m a vintage lingerie enthusiast and you’d likely catch me wearing a corset to the supermarket. Available for all your picnic and dance party needs, here’s a little more about what makes me me!
1. How would you describe your style in 3 words?
Simple, sexy, sustainable
2. What does personal style mean to you?
Style is definitely a pretty major source of confidence for me. I mean, you can’t help but feel unstoppable in vintage Dior, but I’ve learned that it’s not everything. I think it’s important for personal growth to figure out what makes YOU feel truly happy with yourself and a lot of that can come from fashion, but there’s really no bigger validation than just being a genuine, well rounded person. Having kickass style should really just be like a bonus.
3. Is there anything on your thrift list right now?
I’m dying to find the perfect leather trench to live in this fall. That and a pair of vintage Prada boots. Just staple Fall pieces in general for sure, and I’m never not on the hunt for well fitting denim.
4. What's one tip you could share for finding your personal style?
Be fearless and be you! Style is a great way to showcase creativity and individuality and you should never be afraid to push boundaries or turn a few heads, whether that be by using lingerie as streetwear like yours truly or exclusively sticking to sweatpants. Ultimately, I've discovered that I am my harshest critic and if I believe that I've got it going on then who can tell me otherwise? That's the mindset I've embraced when it comes to style and I'm the most confident in my body I've ever been.
5. What hobbies and interests do you have outside of fashion?
I really love music. Like, I’m the annoying friend who will sing too loudly in the car but I’ll always come through with the perfect playlist for any mood. And I try to go to as many concerts as I can. My most recent fav was Maggie Rogers. Also does skincare count as a hobby?
6. And the bonus question I like to ask everyone before they go: What’s something you’re really proud of right now?
Something that I’m super proud of and grateful for right now and always is just the amazing support system I have in my life. Life is hard but it feels so much easier when you’re surrounded by uplifting energy. I’ve definitely reached a point where the all of the relationships in my life are either fulfilling me in some way or have been cut loose. I feel like that’s a very necessary step for personal growth that I’m proud to have taken.
